October 10, 2024 - Baraboo, WI - Farmer Angel Network sponsored tickets for ten local women to attend the Women, Words & Wine event held at Vennebu Hill and hosted by the Portage, Reedsburg, and Sauk Prairie Chambers of Commerce.
Farmer Angel Network wanted to provide an opportunity for women in ag to network, learn, and just enjoy an evening away from the farm. We know how hard they work and felt this would be an inspiring and empowering evening.
The women were nominated by others for their contributions to the agricultural community. Here are just a few of the reasons these amazing women were nominated:
Cares for the land, fostering community, and providing an abundance for the future.
Deeply involved in family's beef and crop operation.
Combines passion for agriculture with hands-on experience whether in the office or out in the fields dedicated to making a positive impact in the agriculture community.
Proud owner growing unique crops and heirloom grains.
Works tirelessly with members to stay involved in their grassroots initiatives and has an active role in developing young farm leaders.
Works with women land owners to help them implement conservation practices on their land.
Hard working mother of 5 children who runs a hobby farm and rarely ever takes time for her self.
She has done so many things for agriculture.
The evening of over 220 women from Sauk and Columbia counties was kicked off by Dr. Mia Myklebust, Vennebu Hill co-owner, who shared the history of the woman owned farm. She explained the venue's name after the Norwegian term meaning “a gathering place for friends and family.”
Dale Wilsher, a professional development expert, filled the rest of the evening with energy and inspiration on embracing your authentic purpose. She gave practical ideas on how to identify your strengths, values and purpose to leverage for success.
