As a result, the board developed and approved the following:
Mission: All farmers will be resilient and have healthy, productive lives
Vision: To be a model for rural communities to appreciate and celebrate agriculture through farmer-to-farmer fellowship in order to decrease the stigma of mental health and promote the health of its community.
Strategies:
Use a variety of approaches to reach broad audiences to raise awareness of mental health challenges in the farming community of FAN.
Increase farmer-to-farmer fellowship opportunities
Work towards increasing and supporting the FAN volunteer base to distribute workload, retain members, and strengthen capacity for one-on-one support of farmers.
Grow the network of partners engaged in support of our efforts and adopt shared goals in our community.
