Farmer Angel Network is collaborating with the Garden of Angels for suicide prevention
August 14, 2024 - Portage, WI - The Garden of Angels was started by Joanne Alt in 2015/16 to raise awareness about suicide and give people a comfortable place to grieve. Joanne opens to the public to enjoy the calming gardens, fields and farm. Visitors are welcome to take flowers and share the love.
Farmer Angel Network, thanks to volunteer Sandy Kratz, donated bud vases to The Garden to help spread the love. Joanne had previously shared the need for vases. In addition to sharing the flowers with visitors , Joanne cuts and delivers them to area residents that need a little cheer. Sandy took on the request, gathering and delivering vases.
While delivering the vases, Sandy walked The Garden and found the brochure boxes Farmer Angel Network previously donated to offer suicide prevention prevention materials for visitors.
Joanne shares how the garden came to be after the death of her child and then soon after her husband to suicide. She converted her farm into the garden. More about her story in this news article, on her web page, and Facebook page.
Joanne shared donations of time, small bud vases and funds are always welcome.
Thank you to Joanne and Sandy for raising awareness and her suicide prevention efforts.
